Neymar's roller coaster of a game ended in tears

What a day for Brazil and the team’s star Neymar.

On Friday, The Selecao beat Costa Rica 2-0 with two unbelievable stoppage time goals, one by Neymar.

We’ll get to that in a moment. Let’s rewind: Before the match, we found out the superstar has been fouled A LOT:

Neymar is the only player to have been fouled 10+ times since the start of the tournament.

And in a second half filled with Brazil pressing to score, there were a few times where he seemed to get knocked down, including this moment in which Neymar was pulled down. But VAR overturned the call:

VAR says no! Neymar’s penalty is overturned!

Even though it appeared the star embellished, it still must have been frustrating for the man tasked with delivering another World Cup to Brazil.

But then Neymar got his frustration out with a last-minute dagger (and did he do the “it’s over” slash motion?):

Neymar’s late goal puts him past Romario in sole possession of 3rd all-time on Brazil’s top scorers list with 56 goals.

He now only trails Pelรฉ (77) and Ronaldo (62). ๐Ÿ‡ง๐Ÿ‡ท

And he tried pulling off this move soon after:

Too. much. sauce. ๐ŸŒˆ

When the whistles blew, he fell to the Russian turf and wept:

This is how much it means

What a day.
